  1. WHAT IS THE DRUG Caffetin Cold AND WHAT IS IT FOR?

Caffetin Cold is a combined preparation containing four active components: paracetamol pseudoephedrine, dextromethorphan and ascorbic acid (vitamin C). Paracetamol reduces pain and lowers body temperature. Pseudoephedrine

reduces nasal congestion and ensures patency of nasal and respiratory tracts. Dextromethorphan suppresses cough caused by irritation in the throat or bronchi. Ascorbic acid can be effective during an infection when vitamin C levels are thought to be low. Caffetin Cold is used to relieve cold and flu symptoms (headache, muscle pain, sore throat, nasal congestion (stuffy nose), fever and dry cough).

  1. WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW BEFORE YOU TAKE Caffetin Cold

Caffetin Cold should not be used:

  • if you have ever had an allergic reaction (breathing problems, swelling of the face and mouth, skin rash, runny nose) to this preparation or to any of its ingredients;
  • if you have severe hypertension (high blood pressure) or coronary artery disease (heart artery disease);
  • if you have severe liver or kidney damage;
  • if you have diabetes, a condition associated with high blood sugar levels;
  • if you have a tumor of the adrenal gland (phaeochromocytoma).
  • if you have an increased function of the thyroid gland (hyperthyroidism);
  • if you have high eye pressure (glaucoma);
  • if you have an enlarged prostate;
  • if you have respiratory failure (weakness) or if there is a risk of developing respiratory failure (weakness)
  • if you have a chronic or persistent cough, or if the cough is accompanied by copious secretions;
  • if you are taking or have taken in the last two weeks MAO inhibitors (for the treatment of depression);
  • if you are taking some of these medicines: selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (to treat depression), beta blockers (for heart problems); cold and flu medicines.

WHEN YOU TAKE THE DRUG Caffetin Cold, KEEP A SPECIAL ACCOUNT:

  • if you have mild to moderate hypertension (high blood pressure) or heart disease;
  • if you have liver or kidney disease;
  • if you are over 60 years old or your body is exhausted because the side effects of this medicine are more likely to appear;
  • if you have epilepsy ("seizures").

During therapy with the drug Caffetin Cold, other drugs containing paracetamol should not be used.

Do not take this medicine without consulting a doctor or pharmacist if you consume more than three alcoholic drinks a day or have liver damage caused by alcohol.

Do not take this medicine for more than 5 days in a row. If you do not feel improvement, or your condition worsens, contact your doctor.

Caffetin Cold is not recommended for children under 12 years of age.

Administration of other drugs

Please contact your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, including those not prescribed.

Simultaneous administration of Caffetin Cold and other drugs may lead to interaction.

This can happen when taking:

  • metoclopramide, domperidone (medicines used in the treatment of nausea and vomiting);
  • other medicines containing paracetamol;
  • medicines that prevent blood clotting (eg warfarin);
  • drugs used in the treatment of high blood pressure, heart problems or circulation problems (sympathomimetics, vasodilators, beta blockers and other antihypertensives);
  • drugs used in the treatment of depression;
  • contraceptive drugs (oral contraceptives);
  • drugs in the therapy of Parkinson's disease;
  • rifampicin (to treat tuberculosis);
  • cholestyramine (to lower blood fat levels);
  • chloramphenicol (to treat infections);
  • some analgesics (used to relieve pain) containing salicylamide;
  • zidovudine (medicines to treat HIV infection);
  • tricyclic antidepressants (for the treatment of depression);
  • drugs that reduce appetite;
  • ergot alkaloids (for migraine);
  • oxytocin (to prevent labor and stop excessive bleeding after childbirth).

Taking Caffetin Cold with food or drinks
Caffetin Cold can be taken without food.
While taking Caffetin Cold, avoid drinking alcoholic beverages (eg wine, beer). This medicine can cause liver damage if taken with alcohol.
Avoid preparations with caffeine, as well as coffee and tea, because nervousness and rapid heartbeat can occur.

Use of Caffetin Cold during pregnancy and breastfeeding
Consult your doctor or pharmacist before taking any medicine. Your doctor or pharmacist will consider the potential benefit against the risk if you take Caffetin Cold during pregnancy or breast-feeding.

The effect of Caffetin Cold on driving and operating machinery
Be careful while driving and operating machinery, until you see how the medicine affects you.
There is a possibility of drowsiness and dizziness, which can be increased if you simultaneously take alcoholic beverages, drugs containing alcohol or drugs with a sedative effect.

  1. HOW TO USE Caffetin Cold
    Always take Caffetin Cold film tablets exactly as your doctor told you or according to the instructions given in the instructions. You should check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
    Adults and children over 12 years old:
    The recommended dose of Caffetin Cold tablets for adults and children over 12 years of age is one tablet, up to four times a day. Two tablets can be taken at once. The interval between taking should not be less than four hours.
    Adults: the maximum single dose is 2 tablets, and the maximum daily dose is 8 tablets (take 2 tablets a maximum of four times in 24 hours).
    Children aged 12-18:
    the maximum single dose is 2 tablets, and the maximum daily dose is 6 tablets (take 2 tablets no more than three times in 24 hours).
    The medicine must not be taken for more than 5 days, without consulting a doctor.
    Children under 12 years old:
    Caffetin Cold is not recommended for use in children under 12 years of age.

If you have taken more Caffetin Cold than you should
If you have taken more than the prescribed dose even if you feel well, contact your doctor or pharmacist immediately, as there is a risk of delayed serious liver damage.

If you forget to take Caffetin Cold
Take Caffetin Cold "as needed" depending on symptoms.
Never take a double dose to make up for a missed dose!

  1. POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS
    Like all drugs, the drug Caffetin Cold can have side effects, although not everyone has them.
    Blood and lymphatic system disorders: thrombocytopenia (reduced number of platelets), tendency to bruise.
    Cardiovascular disorders: palpitations, rapid heartbeat, other heart rhythm disorders.
    Respiratory, thoracic and mediastinum disorders: bronchospasm (difficulty breathing due to spasms in the bronchi) in predisposed persons (analgesic asthma), respiratory depression.
    Gastrointestinal disorders: nausea, vomiting and diarrhea (diarrhea).
    Hepatobiliary disorders: liver damage can occur after prolonged use of large doses or after overdose, insufficiency (weakness) of the liver.
    General disorders and administration site conditions: irritability.
    Immune system disorders: allergic reaction. If you experience an allergic reaction (difficulty breathing, closing of the throat, swelling of the lips, tongue or face, skin rash), stop taking this medicine and seek medical help immediately. Allergic reactions are considered very serious side effects.
    Nervous system disorders: headache, tremors, agitation, restlessness, convulsions (muscle spasms), irritability, dizziness, insomnia, drowsiness, hallucinations-apparitions (especially in children), paranoid delusions.
    Psychiatric disorders: excitement, mental confusion, sleep disorder.
    Renal and urinary system disorders: difficulty urinating, including urinary retention.
    Skin and subcutaneous tissue disorders: skin reactions, including rash, swelling and bullous skin reactions (bubble-like skin changes), such as Stevens-Johnson syndrome.
    Vascular diseases: increase in blood pressure.

  2. HOW TO STORE Caffetin Cold

Keep out of the reach and sight of children.

Shelf life Two (2) years.

Do not use Caffetin Cold after the expiration date indicated on the box.

The term of use expires on the last day of the specified month.

There are no special conditions for storing the medicine.

Warning for visible signs of malfunction

Medicines should not be thrown into the sewer or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medicines you no longer need. These measures help to preserve the environment. Unused medicine is destroyed in accordance with current regulations.

What does Caffetin Cold contain?

The active substances are paracetamol, pseudoephedrine hydrochloride, dextromethorphan hydrobromide and ascorbic acid.

One film-coated tablet contains: 500 mg of paracetamol, 30 mg of pseudoephedrine hydrochloride, 15 mg of dextromethorphan hydrobromide, and 60 mg of ascorbic acid (vitamin C).

Other ingredients are:

Tablet core: cellulose, microcrystalline; silica, colloidal, anhydrous; croscarmellose sodium; talcum powder; magnesium stearate.

Film coating: Opadry II Blue (polyvinyl alcohol-partially hydrolyzed; titanium dioxide (E171); talc; macrogol (PEG 3350); FD&C Blue #2/Indigo carmine aluminum lake (E132).

What Caffetin Cold looks like and the contents of the package

Caffetin Cold are blue, oblong, biconvex film-coated tablets with a score line on one side.

Caffetin Cold film tablets are packed in a blister pack (PVC/TE/PVdC/Al foils). Each blister contains 10 film-coated tablets.

A cardboard box contains 10 film tablets (1 blister) and an instruction manual.
