This medicine can be obtained without a prescription. However, it is necessary to use Panadol Extra Advance carefully in order to achieve the best results with it.

1. WHAT IS PANADOL EXTRA ADVANCE AND WHAT IS IT FOR?
Panadol Extra Advance contains paracetamol, which is an analgesic (pain reliever) and antipyretic (helps to lower body temperature when you have a fever) and caffeine, which enhances the effect of paracetamol.
Panadol Extra Advance enables faster absorption of the drug compared to paracetamol and caffeine tablets with a standard formulation. This medicine relieves headache, migraine, back pain, rheumatic pain, muscle pain, neuralgia, toothache and menstrual pain. Panadol Extra Advance lowers elevated body temperature and relieves the pain of colds and flu.

2. WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW BEFORE YOU TAKE PANADOL EXTRA ADVANCE
You must not use Panadol Extra Advance:

  • With other medicines containing paracetamol.
  • If you are allergic to paracetamol, caffeine or any of the other ingredients listed above
  • If you are under 12 years old

Before taking Panadol Extra Advance, consult your doctor or pharmacist:

  • If you use metoclopramide or domperidone to treat nausea or vomiting
  • If you are using cholestyramine to treat high cholesterol
  • If you have liver or kidney problems
  • If you use anticoagulants (medicines that thin the blood, for example warfarin), or you have to take painkillers every day for a long time. You can take Panadol Extra Advance occasionally
  • If the headache becomes persistent, consult a doctor
  • In case of overdose, it is necessary to consult a doctor immediately, even if you feel well, because there is a risk of severe liver damage.

Avoid excessive coffee and tea when using this medicine.

Taking Panadol Extra Advance with food or drink
Chronic alcohol use increases the risk of liver damage in patients taking paracetamol.

Use of Panadol Extra Advance during pregnancy and breastfeeding
Due to the caffeine that is part of this medicine, the medicine should not be used if you are in another state or are breastfeeding.

Effect of Panadol Extra Advance on driving and operating machinery
It is not known that the use of the drug in usual doses affects the ability to drive a motor vehicle or operate machinery.

Important information about some of the ingredients of Panadol Extra Advance
Sodium methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E219), sodium ethyl parahydroxybenzoate (E215), sodium propyl parahydroxybenzoate (E217) can cause allergic reactions (possibly of a delayed nature)

3. HOW TO USE PANADOL EXTRA ADVANCE
If you think that Panadol Extra Advance is acting too weakly or strongly on your body, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
Adults and children over 12 years old:
Take 2 tablets with water every 4 hours. The time gap between taking tablets must not be less than 4 hours. No more than 8 tablets should be taken in 24 hours. Do not exceed the recommended dose. If symptoms persist even after treatment, contact your doctor. Unless under medical supervision, prolonged continuous use of this medication may be harmful. Avoid the simultaneous use of coffee, tea and other products containing caffeine, due to the possible side effects of caffeine (insomnia, muscle tremors, discomfort in the chest).

If you have taken more Panadol Extra Advance than you should
If you have taken a larger dose of Panadol Extra Advance than you should, inform your doctor or pharmacist immediately!
In case of overdose, it is necessary to consult a doctor immediately, even if you feel well, because there is a risk of severe liver damage.

If you forget to take Panadol Extra Advance
Never take a double dose to make up for a missed dose!

If you suddenly stop taking Panadol Extra Advance
Not applicable.

4. POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS
Like other medicines, Panadol Extra Advance can cause side effects, but not everybody gets them. These effects usually disappear after stopping the use of the drug. Stop taking the medicine and contact your doctor or pharmacist if you have experienced any of the listed and/or other side effects: skin rash, allergic reactions, difficulty breathing (this occurs more often if you have already had a problem when using ibuprofen or aspirin before) , increased blood pressure, headache, dizziness, stomach problems (nausea or diarrhea), sleep problems, heart palpitations and blood disorders - thrombocytopenia and agranulocytosis (a decrease in the number of platelets and white blood cells that occur with frequent and long-term use), bruising or bleeding that you cannot explain. These effects should disappear after discontinuation of the drug.

5. HOW TO STORE PANADOL EXTRA ADVANCE
Shelf life 2 years.
Do not use the medicine after the expiration date indicated on the package.
Storage Keep Panadol Extra Advance out of the reach and sight of children.
Store at a temperature of up to 25˚C.

6. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
What does PanadolExtra Advance contain?

Each Panadol Extra Advance tablet contains 500 mg of paracetamol and 65 mg of caffeine as an active substance.
Auxiliary substances included in the composition of the tablet core: starch, pregelatinized; calcium carbonate; alginic acid; crospovidone; povidone (K-25); magnesium stearate; sodium paraben mixture: Sodium methylparahydroxybenzoate (E219); Sodium ethyl parahydroxybenzoate (E215); Sodium propyl parahydroxybenzoate (E217).
Auxiliary substances included in the tablet coating: Opadry White (YS-1-7003): Titanium dioxide, hypromellose 2910 (3 cp), hypromellose 2910 (6 cp), macrogol 400, polysorbate 80; carnauba wax.

What the medicine PanadolExtra Advance looks like and the contents of the package
Film tablet. White to off-white, oval-shaped film-coated tablets, debossed with xPx on one side, with P inside a circle. The finished product is packed in opaque blisters of 250 μm PVC/20 μm Al foil or 300 μm PVC/20 μm Al foil.

A pack of 12 film-coated tablets is a cardboard box containing one blister with 12 tablets (1 x 12).
