The drug SNUP nasal spray, solution, contains the active substance xylometazoline, which narrows the blood vessels of the nasal mucosa, thereby reducing swelling and increasing the patency of the nasal canals. The drug is intended to relieve the symptoms of stuffy nose, chronic and allergic rhinitis (allergic inflammation of the nasal mucosa), sinusitis (inflammation of the sinuses).
SNUP (0.1%) nasal spray, solution is intended for adults and children older than 12 years.

you are hypersensitive to the active substance or to any auxiliary substance of the medicine

In the following text, it will be described, when SNUP nasal spray, solution can be used only under certain conditions and with special precautions. Please ask your doctor about them. This also applies if these allegations were related to you in the past.
What should you pay attention to?
Long-term use and overdose should be avoided, especially in children. Long-term use and overdose of this drug can lead to reactive hyperemia of the nasal mucosa. The rebound effect can lead to airway obstruction, which then causes patients to use the drug repeatedly, or even continuously. This can further lead to chronic swelling (rhinitis medicamentosa) and even atrophy of the nasal mucosa (ozena). In milder cases, it may be considered to stop the application of the drug first on one nostril, and after the discomfort has subsided, to switch to the other side, in order to preserve at least part of nasal breathing.
Patients with glaucoma, especially angle-closure glaucoma, should consult a doctor before using xylometazoline sneezing medication.
SNUP nasal spray, solution should be used only after careful consideration of benefits and risks in the following cases:
