By stimulating the nerves for the perception of cold, while simultaneously depressing the nerves for the perception of pain, menthol first causes a sensation of cold, followed later by a sensation of warmth.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Camphor\u00a0<\/strong>is the main ingredient of essential oil of the camphor tree (lat. Cinnamomum camphora) and is traditionally used for rheumatic pain, myalgia and neuralgia. Topical application of camphor helps to reduce pain of various origins - camphor has analgesic and anesthetic effects.
