What is Rinasek and what is it for?<br \/>\nThe drug Rinasek contains the active substances pseudoephedrine and triprolidine. It is used to relieve symptoms<br \/>\ncolds, flu and allergies including sneezing, runny nose, watery eyes and nasal and sinus congestion. These<br \/>\ntablets contain pseudoephedrine hydrochloride which is a decongestant that relieves nasal and sinus congestion and triprolidine hydrochloride belongs to a group of medicines called antihistamines used to treat allergy symptoms<br \/>\nlike sneezing, runny nose and watery eyes.<br \/>\nRinasek tablets are used to treat:<br \/>\n- allergic rhinitis (inflammation of the mucous membrane of the nose caused by an allergy)<br \/>\n- vasomotor rhinitis (inflammation of the nasal mucosa of a non-allergic nature)<br \/>\n\u2013 colds (sneezing).<br \/>\nThis medicine is intended for use in adults and children 12 years of age and older.<br \/>\nYou must contact your doctor if you do not feel better or if you feel worse after 5 days.<br \/>\n2. What you need to know before taking Rinasek<br \/>\nYou must not take Rinasek:<br \/>\n- if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to triprolidine and pseudoephedrine or to any of the excipients<br \/>\nsubstances of this medicine (listed in section 6)<br \/>\n- if you have diabetes (diabetes mellitus) or severe impairment of kidney function<br \/>\n- if you have elevated thyroid function (hyperthyroidism)<br \/>\n- if you have closed-angle glaucoma (increased pressure in the eye)<br \/>\n- if you have a pheochromocytoma (a tumor that affects the heart and blood pressure)<br \/>\n- if you have hypertension (high blood pressure) or heart and blood vessel disease or if you are taking<br \/>\ndrugs from the group of beta-blockers.<br \/>\n- if you have lung disease or breathing problems, and the risk of developing lung weakness<br \/>\n(respiratory insufficiency)<br \/>\n- if you are taking or have taken in the past two weeks medicines for the treatment of depression, such as<br \/>\nmonoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) or reversible monoamine oxidase inhibitors (RIMAs)<br \/>\n- if you are taking other cough medicines or other cold medicines (other sympathomimetics).<br \/>\nThis medicine should not be taken by children under 12 years of age.<br \/>\nIf any of the above applies to you, consult your doctor or pharmacist before taking<br \/>\nthe Rinasek drug.<br \/>\nWarnings and precautions<br \/>\nTalk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Rinasek if:<br \/>\n\u2013 you have kidney disease and\/or severe liver disease<br \/>\n- you are susceptible to angle-closure glaucoma (increased pressure in the eyes)<br \/>\n- you have reduced blood flow through the arteries or veins (occlusive vascular disease)<br \/>\n- you are on therapy for thyroid disease<br \/>\n- you have problems with the prostate (difficulty urinating or the need to urinate frequently)<br \/>\n\u2013 you are addicted to alcohol<br \/>\n\u2013 you suffer from epilepsy<br \/>\n\u2013 you have asthma, chronic bronchitis or emphysema of the lungs<br \/>\nIf you experience any of the following, stop taking this medicine immediately and contact your doctor<br \/>\ntell your doctor:<br \/>\n\uf0b7 widespread redness and pustules (small changes on the skin with purulent content), followed by<br \/>\nfever (see section 4)<br \/>\n\uf0b7 sudden abdominal pain, the appearance of blood in the stool or bleeding from the stool or diarrhea due to inflammation of the colon<br \/>\nintestines (ischemic colitis). If you experience these symptoms of the digestive system, stop immediately<br \/>\n3 out of 7<br \/>\nto use Rinasek, contact your doctor or seek immediate medical help<br \/>\n(see section 4).<br \/>\n\uf0b7 sudden severe headache, nausea, vomiting, confusion, muscle spasms and visual disturbances.<br \/>\n\uf0b7 hallucinations (deception of the senses)<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Anxiety and sleep disturbance<br \/>\nThe drug Rinasek, tablets, can cause drowsiness.<br \/>\nThis medicine should not be used to sedate a child.<br \/>\nThis drug may result in a positive anti-doping test.<br \/>\nThe doctor or pharmacist is obliged to check that medicines containing sympathomimetics are not administered<br \/>\nat the same time, in several ways, e.g. oral and local (nose, ear and eye solutions).<br \/>\nRinasek can have a stimulating effect on the central nervous system, which can cause insomnia.<br \/>\nagitation, hyperpyrexia (increased body temperature), tremors (shaking) and epileptiform convulsions<br \/>\n(muscle spasm attacks). Caution is necessary in people suffering from epilepsy.<br \/>\nOther medicines and the medicine Rinasek<br \/>\nInform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken or may take any<br \/>\nwhat other medicines.<br \/>\nTell your doctor if you are taking:<br \/>\n\uf02d sedatives (medicines used in the therapy of anxiety and tension)<br \/>\n\uf02d antihypertensives (medicines used to treat high blood pressure such as guanethidine, reserpine, methyldopa,<br \/>\nadrenergic blockers, debrisoquine, bretylium, betanidine)<br \/>\n\uf02d stimulants or appetite suppressants and drugs used in the therapy of congestion and asthma<br \/>\n(sympathomimetics)<br \/>\n\uf02d tricyclic antidepressants (used in the treatment of mood disorders)<br \/>\n\uf02d moclobemide (used in the treatment of mood disorders)<br \/>\n\uf02d cardiotonic glycosides (medicines used in the therapy of heart rhythm control or heart contractions<br \/>\nsuch as digoxin<br \/>\n\uf02d ergot alkaloids (medications used in migraine therapy such as ergotamine and methylsergide)<br \/>\n\uf02d oxytocin (a drug used to induce contractions during childbirth)<br \/>\n\uf02d anticholinergics (medicines used in the treatment of convulsions or spasms such as atropine)<br \/>\n\uf02d hypnotics (hypnotics including barbiturates)<br \/>\n\uf02d opioid analgesics (medicines used against pain such as codeine, tramadol, morphine)<br \/>\n\uf02d antipsychotics (medications used in the therapy of mood disorders)<br \/>\n\uf02d monoamine oxidase inhibitors (used in the treatment of mood disorders)<br \/>\n\uf02d anesthetics (halogens - can affect the heart and lead to arrhythmias)<br \/>\nIf you are not sure about any medicine you are taking, show the box or bottle of medicine to your pharmacist.<br \/>\nTaking Rinasek with food, drinks and alcohol<br \/>\nDuring treatment with Rinasek, you must not consume alcoholic beverages. Alcohol enhances the effect of the drug<br \/>\nRinasek affecting the reduction of attention and mental abilities.<br \/>\nPregnancy, breastfeeding and fertility<br \/>\nIf you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you are pregnant or are planning to become pregnant, contact your doctor or<br \/>\npharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.<br \/>\nDo not take Rinasek during pregnancy without the advice of your doctor.<br \/>\nRinasek is excreted in small amounts in breast milk.<br \/>\n4 out of 7<br \/>\nDo not take Rinasek during breastfeeding without the advice of your doctor.<br \/>\nIf you have additional questions, please contact your doctor.<br \/>\nDriving vehicles and operating machines<br \/>\nThis medicine can cause dizziness, drowsiness, decreased alertness and hearing impairment. If you like<br \/>\nIf these side effects occur, do not drive or operate machinery.<br \/>\nAvoid the use of alcoholic beverages and other drugs that can cause drowsiness, because in this case<br \/>\nincreases the likelihood of these side effects.<br \/>\nRinasek contains lactose monohydrate<br \/>\nRinasek contains lactose monohydrate. In case of intolerance to certain sugars, consult your doctor<br \/>\nbefore using this medicine.<br \/>\n3. How to take Rinasek<br \/>\nAlways take this medicine exactly as stated in this leaflet or as explained to you by your doctor<br \/>\nor a pharmacist. If you are not sure, check with your doctor or pharmacist.<br \/>\nRecommended dose for adults and children over 12 years old: 1 tablet every 4-6 hours, maximum 4 tablets per day.<br \/>\nLeave at least 4 hours between doses.<br \/>\nDo not take more than 4 tablets in 24 hours.<br \/>\nRinasek tablets are intended for oral use (taken by mouth).<br \/>\nUse in children under 12 years of age<br \/>\nThis medicine must not be given to children under 12 years of age. Children aged 6 to 12 should use the drug Rinasek (30<br \/>\nmg\/5 mL + 1.25 mg\/5 mL), syrup.<br \/>\nSeniors.<br \/>\nIn the elderly, the usual adult dose has been shown to be appropriate<br \/>\nCaution is required in case of severe impairment of kidney and\/or liver function.<br \/>\nIf you have taken more Rinasek than you should<br \/>\nIf you have taken more tablets than recommended (overdose) or someone else<br \/>\naccidentally took your medicine, contact your doctor, pharmacist or nearest health facility immediately.<br \/>\nSymptoms of an acute overdose are drowsiness, fatigue, dizziness, difficulty walking, weakness, muscle weakness,<br \/>\ndifficulty breathing, dryness of the skin and mucous membranes, rapid heart rate, increased blood pressure, increased body temperature<br \/>\ntemperature, hyperactivity, irritability, heart palpitations, cramps and difficulty urinating, increased blood sugar,<br \/>\ndecreased concentration of potassium in the blood, insomnia, nervousness, agitation, confusion, delirium, psychosis,<br \/>\nconvulsions (muscle spasms), hand tremors, bleeding in the brain, drowsiness in children, dilated pupils,<br \/>\nslowed heart rate, supraventricular and ventricular arrhythmias, dysarrhythmia, heart attack, hypertensive crisis,<br \/>\nnausea, vomiting, intestinal necrosis, muscle breakdown, acute renal failure, urinary disorder,<br \/>\nanticholinergic syndrome (pupil dilation, flushing, increased body temperature, dry mouth,<br \/>\nurinary retention, decreased bowel motility), decreased blood pressure, sensory illusions (hallucinations).<br \/>\nIf you forget to take Rinasek<br \/>\nDo not take a double dose to make up for a missed dose.<br \/>\n5 out of 7<br \/>\nIf you missed a dose of the medicine, take it as soon as you can and continue taking the therapy<br \/>\naccording to the schedule for that day, taking care to take each subsequent dose with a time gap of at least<br \/>\n4 hours, not more than 4 tablets in 24 hours. However, if it is almost time for the next dose,<br \/>\ncontinue taking the drug according to the recommended regimen.<br \/>\nIf you have any further questions about the use of this medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist.<br \/>\n4. Possible side effects<br \/>\nLike all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.<br \/>\npatients taking this medicine.<br \/>\nIf you experience any of the following side effects, stop taking this medicine immediately<br \/>\nseek medical attention:<br \/>\n\uf02d sudden appearance of elevated body temperature, redness of the skin, or numerous blue pustules<br \/>\n(possible symptoms of acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis-AGEP), may occur in the first<br \/>\ntwo days of therapy with this medicine (see section 2)<br \/>\n\uf02d sudden pain in the abdomen, appearance of blood in the stool or bleeding from stool and diarrhea (inflammation due to<br \/>\ninsufficient blood flow to the large intestine - ischemic colitis)<br \/>\n\uf02d sudden severe headache, nausea, vomiting, confusion, convulsions and visual disturbances<br \/>\n\uf02d swelling of the face, lips, mouth, tongue, throat, which can cause difficulty in swallowing and breathing<br \/>\n\uf02d feeling tired, unexpected bruising and bleeding or infection (such as a cold)<br \/>\n\uf02d allergic reactions including rashes such as hives (which can be severe and include<br \/>\nblisters and peeling skin) itching and rash<br \/>\n\uf02d sensory delusions (hallucinations), paranoid delusions and convulsions (epileptic attacks, convulsions).<br \/>\nIf you experience any of the above, stop taking this medicine and talk to your doctor<br \/>\ndoctor:<br \/>\n\uf02d agitation or sleep disturbance<br \/>\n\uf02d fast or irregular heartbeat or subjective feeling of heart palpitations (palpitations)<br \/>\n\uf02d difficult urination (especially in men with prostate problems)<br \/>\nOther side effects that may occur:<br \/>\nVery common side effects (may occur in more than 1 in 10 patients taking the medicine):<br \/>\n\uf02d headache<br \/>\nCommon side effects (may occur in up to 1 in 10 patients taking the medicine):<br \/>\n\uf02d insomnia, nervousness, dizziness<br \/>\n\uf02d drowsiness<br \/>\n\uf02d blurred vision<br \/>\n\uf02d thick secretions, dry mouth, nausea and stomach pain<br \/>\nRare side effects (may occur in up to 1 in 1000 patients taking the medicine):<br \/>\n\uf02d confusion<br \/>\n\uf02d depression<br \/>\n\uf02d stiffness, tremors or speech disorder<br \/>\n\uf02d low blood pressure<br \/>\n\uf02d blood disorders<br \/>\n\uf02d liver disorders<br \/>\nFrequency not known: cannot be estimated from the available data:<br \/>\n\uf02d stroke<br \/>\n\uf02d heart attack\/reduced blood flow to the heart which can cause discomfort or pain in the chest, neck,<br \/>\nback, jaw, shoulders and arms (known as angina), rapid heartbeat<br \/>\n\uf02d agitation, anxiety, irritability or a feeling of indescribable happiness<br \/>\n\uf02d tingling and tingling of hands and feet<br \/>\n6 out of 7<br \/>\n\uf02d high blood pressure<br \/>\n\uf02d nosebleeds, dry nose and throat<br \/>\n\uf02d vomiting or abdominal pain<br \/>\n\uf02d pain during urination<br \/>\n\uf02d fatigue<br \/>\n\uf02d very high body temperature<br \/>\nReporting adverse reactions<br \/>\nIf you experience any unwanted reaction, you should inform your doctor or pharmacist.<br \/>\nThis includes any possible side effects that are not listed in this guide. How to store Rinasek<br \/>\nKeep the medicine out of the sight and reach of children.<br \/>\nYou must not use Rinasek after the expiration date indicated on the package after: &quot;Expired by&quot;. Date<br \/>\nthe expiration date refers to the last day of the specified month.<br \/>\nStore at a temperature of up to 25\u00baC in the original packaging, in order to protect from light and moisture.<br \/>\nUnusable medicines are handed over to the pharmacy where the notice that they are to be collected is displayed in that pharmacy<br \/>\nunusable medicines from citizens. Unusable medicines must not be thrown into the sewer or together with<br \/>\ncommunal waste. These measures will help protect the environment.<br \/>\n6.
