Colds are most common in the autumn and winter months. The disease occurs gradually, and the symptoms are runny nose, watery eyes, stuffy nose, scratchy throat, mild cough.

Treatment includes resting, taking plenty of warm drinks. Paracetamol, ibuprofen, acetylsalicylic acid are taken against fever and pain. In the beginning, preparations against dry cough are taken, and when the cough becomes productive, then expectorant preparations are taken (acetylcysteine, bitter gourd syrup, buckthorn, combinations for expectoration. Acetylcysteine (Fluimucil, ACC, Propomucil, Maxomucil) should not be combined with paracetamol, because they cancel each other out.

Do not use the nasal drops randomly. Excessive use of nasal drops can lead to permanent damage to the nasal mucosa and addiction. Do not use drops for longer than 7 days. Paracetamol should not be taken too often, because it can cause liver damage.

You should rest well, sleep as much as possible, drink a lot of fluids and strengthen your immunity. If there are no complications, the disease passes within a week.
