  1. WHAT IS CANESPOR CREAM AND WHAT IS IT FOR?
    Canespor cream is a broad-spectrum antimycotic intended for the treatment of fungal infections (mycosis) of the skin.
    Bifonazole, the active substance of the drug Canespor cream, penetrates into the infected layers of the skin, where it kills the fungi. It also has an anti-inflammatory effect (antiphlogistic).
    Canespor cream is used in fungal infections (mycosis) of the skin caused by dermatophytes, yeasts, molds and other fungi such as Malassezia furfur as well as in infections caused by Corynebacterium minutissimum. This includes fungal infections of the feet and hands (including the treatment of an exposed nail bed resulting from keratolytic therapy for fungal nail disease); fungal skin infections on other parts of the body and skin folds; rash caused by Malassezia furfur (pityriasis versicolor); skin infections caused by Corynebacterium minutissimum (erythrasma) and superficial candidiasis. 
  2. WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW BEFORE YOU TAKE CANESPOR CREAM
    Canespor cream should not be used:
    If you are hypersensitive (allergic) to the active substance bifonazole or any other auxiliary substance of this medicine (for example cetostearyl alcohol).
    When taking the drug Canespor cream, take special care:
    If you have had hypersensitivity reactions (allergic reactions) to other antifungal medicines in the past (for example those containing econazole, clotrimazole, miconazole), use Canespor cream with caution.
    Avoid contact of Canespor cream with eyes. Antimycotic treatment of the skin of the nail bed with Canespor cream can only be carried out after keratolytic removal of the infected nail.
    Application in children
    In small children, Canespor cream should be used only under the supervision of a doctor. Be careful not to get the cream into the child's mouth.
    Administration of other drugs
    Tell your doctor and pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, including those that can be obtained without a prescription. There are no known interactions with other drugs.
    Application of Canespor cream during pregnancy and breastfeeding
    Before you start taking any medicine, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
    During pregnancy, bifonazole should be used only after a careful assessment of benefits and risks, since there are no data on its use in pregnant women.
    Bifonazole should not be applied to the breast area during breastfeeding.

The effect of the drug Canespor cream on driving motor vehicles and operating machinery
There are no special precautions.
Important information about some of the ingredients of Canespor cream
Cetostearyl alcohol may cause local skin reactions (eg contact dermatitis).

  1. HOW CANESPOR CREAM IS USED
    Always use the drug Canespor cream exactly as indicated in this instruction manual. If you are not absolutely sure, check with your doctor or pharmacist.
    Unless otherwise prescribed by your doctor, the recommended dose is:
    Canespor cream should be applied once a day. A small amount of cream is generally sufficient for a palm-sized area (about 1 cm is squeezed out of the tube).
    Method of application
    Apply a thin layer of Canespor cream and rub into the infected areas of the skin, preferably in the evening before going to bed.
    Duration of treatment
    You will achieve long-term successful results if you continue to use Canespor cream even if there are no more symptoms of infection, such as burning or itching.
    Depending on the type of infection, the usual duration of therapy is:

Fungal infections on the feet and between the toes (tinea pedis, tinea pedis interdigitalis) 3 weeks
Fungal infections on the body, hands and skin folds (tinea corporis, tinea manuum, tinea inguinalis) 2 - 3 weeks
Pityriasis versicolor, erythrasma 2 weeks
Fungal skin infections caused by yeast (superficial skin candidiasis) 2 – 4 weeks

If your symptoms worsen or you do not feel better after about a week, you must contact your doctor.
If it seems that Canespor cream is too weak or too strong for you, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
What else can you do?
Before each application of creams, wash the infected areas of the skin to remove the fallen skin flakes and any residue from the previous treatment. After washing, dry the skin well, especially the hard-to-reach areas such as between the toes. Change towels and any clothing that has been in contact with infected skin daily. In this way, you can prevent the fungal infection from spreading to other parts of the body or to other people.
If you have taken more Canespor cream than you should
No cases of overdose have been reported.

If you forget to take Canespor cream
Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed dose.

  1. POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS
    The drug Canespor cream, like other drugs, can have side effects, although they do not necessarily occur in everyone.

Disorders at the level of skin and subcutaneous tissue
Occasional: Transient skin irritation, eg redness, burning.
Immunological disorders
Rare: Hypersensitivity reactions (allergic reactions) to the active substance bifonazole or excipients (for example cetostearyl alcohol), which can manifest as itching, redness, blisters, sometimes outside the contact area (generalized reactions after direct skin contact in individuals with allergic contact eczema).

What to do when side effects occur
In case the listed side effects occur, consult a doctor or pharmacist.
If any side effect becomes serious or you notice any side effect that is not listed in this instruction, please inform your doctor or pharmacist.

  1. HOW TO STORE CANESPOR CREAM
    Keep out of the reach and sight of children.
    Expiration date
    Shelf life of unopened medicine: 5 years.
    Shelf life after first opening the medicine: 16 months.
    Do not use the drug Canespor cream after the expiration date marked on the box and tube.
    Keeping
    There are no special storage conditions. Unused medicine is destroyed in accordance with current regulations
  2. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
    What does Canespor cream contain? The active substance is bifonazole.
    1 g of cream contains 10 mg of bifonazole.
    Other ingredients are: benzyl alcohol; cetyl palmitate; cetostearyl alcohol; octyldodecanol; polysorbate 60; sorbitan stearate; water, purified.
    What the drug Canespor cream looks like and the contents of the package
    White cream. Outer packing: collapsible carton box.
    Inner packaging: aluminum tube that is lacquered with epoxy phenolic resin on the inside, closed with a polyethylene screw cap.
    The size of the tube is 15 g.
