  •     It can be sterilized with boiling water or washed with a disinfectant solution (every part of the device is made of thermostable material).
  •     It is safe for use in both infants and adults.
  •     It does not contain harmful substances for health.
  •     High level of quality at an acceptable price.

The process of rinsing the nose:

1. Preparations: connect the vacuum cleaner to electricity (put the button in the connector), then place the device close to the body within arm's or leg reach so that we can turn it on.

2. Place the device and insert the bell part of the connector into the vacuum cleaner tube.

3. Instill a physiological solution (0.91 TP3T saline solution) into both nostrils of the child, which corresponds to the composition of the tears. It doesn't burn, it doesn't irritate, it just moisturizes and softens the secretion. After 3 minutes you can start removing the softened secretion. Instillation softens the dry secretion that has stuck to the mucous membrane of the nose, so you can rinse your nose safely without damaging the mucous membrane.

4. The position should correspond to the age of the child.

  •  Removal of secretions from the nose of newborns and infants:

Rest the child's body on your left forearm, support the head with your fist in the middle position, and hold the child in a semi-recumbent position at approximately 45 degrees. It is important not to hold the child with the head tilted back, even in a lying position, as this makes it difficult to remove secretions. Then, due to gravity, the secretion slides into the throat.

In the case of good body posture, the secretion leaks in the direction of secretion removal, in the direction of the nasal canals, so it facilitates the removal of secretions with the device.

In newborns and infants, there is not yet so much and so thick secretion, that you should make a real vacuum, so you should not press to close the nasal canal from the other side. At this age, you wouldn't be able to do that anyway, because the moment you close one nostril with a tube, the other nostril with compression, the child would open his mouth.

In the age of newborns and infants, the hands should not be fixed either, because the child does not yet have the strength to turn off the vacuum cleaner or interfere with the washing with his movements. This can eventually happen after 6 months of charging.

  • Rinsing the nose of a small child - an older infant and preschool child:

Take the child in your arms. Place his legs between yours and squeeze them a little if necessary. If you have help on hand, another person can accept the child's arms. Ask the child to bend the head slightly forward and down, in this way you help to remove secretions using the force of gravity.

If the child is mature enough to cooperate, you can compress the other nostril to create a vacuum and thus shorten the time it takes to remove secretions from the nose. With the formation of a vacuum, the removal of secretions is accelerated and supported, but this is not inevitable. You can only achieve this if the child is willing to cooperate, and you can ask him not to open his mouth while we remove the secretions from the nose.

The importance of removing secretions from the nose: by closing the nostrils, a vacuum is created in the nose, and this allows the secretions to be emptied from the central nasal passage into the common nasal canal, from where you can already remove it with your NOSE. This is very important in the case of thick secretions. The mucous, liquid secretion already empties itself from the middle nasal passage into the common nasal canal, from where you can easily remove the secretion with the NOSKO device and without creating a vacuum.

Before removing secretions from the nose of a child of any age, it is very important to use nasal drops!

5. Turn on the vacuum cleaner. Thanks to its construction, the SIGMA device works under a constant pressure of 0.2 bar, which is completely safe even when removing secretions from the nose of a newborn.

6. Place the head of the appliance near the opening of the nose. Hold the head of the device in your right hand so that the silicone tube (as drawn on the device box) faces upwards. This is important in order to avoid leakage of secretions into the tube, thus you will preserve the hygiene of the device, so you will only have to wash the head of the device and the container, not the silicone tube. Bring the head of the device closer to the opening of the nasal canals, insert the tube into the canal itself to the part where it expands. Do not push deeply into the nose as this does not increase the effect. The tube should be held down and to the side in order to remove secretions from the bottom of the nasal passages as well.

You may remove secretions in one go for a maximum of 5 seconds. If that is not enough, you can repeat the 5-second rinse several times with 3-5 second breaks, but it is preferable to repeat as long as secretions appear in the container.

7. Remove the device from the nose.

8. Turn off the vacuum cleaner.

9. Use a soft cloth to wipe the drops of secretion around the nose if necessary.

10. If necessary, apply cream around the child's nose, with which you can avoid nasal secretions from causing redness and skin irritation.

11. Remove the rinsing device from the vacuum cleaner.

12. Disassemble the head and wash well under the tap with running water. If necessary, it can be boiled or sterilized in another way (eg soak in a disinfectant solution). When washing, the container should be disassembled from the head of the appliance, and the head itself can be disassembled in order to wash it. The SIGMA device can be disassembled into 5 separate parts, which, in addition to enabling hygienic maintenance, also supports the sterilization of the device.

13. When the parts are dry, place them in a clean place so that you can use them immediately next time.
