What is acc® akut 600 and what is it for?

What you need to know before taking ACC® acute 600:
You must not use ACC® acute 600:

  • If you are allergic (hypersensitive) to acetylcysteine or any other component of ACC® acute 600
  • Due to the high concentration of the active substance, ACC® acute 600 should not be used in children under 2 years of age
  • For them, the use of ACC® acute 600 is recommended
  • In children aged 1 month to 1 year, ACC® acute 600 should be used only if there are vital medical indications. The medicine should be administered under the strict supervision of a doctor, preferably in hospital conditions. There are no reliable data and recommendations on how to dose acetylcysteine in newborns

When taking ACC® acute 600, be especially careful:
Severe skin changes with blistering or flaking of the skin (Stevens-Johnson and Lyell's syndrome) associated with the use of acetylcysteine have been reported very rarely. If new changes appear on the skin and mucous membranes, it is necessary to immediately seek the advice of a doctor and stop using acetylcysteine.

The combined use of acetylcysteine with antitussives (antitussive medicine) can cause dangerous retention of secretions in the respiratory tract due to the reduction of the cough reflex. Before starting the use of this combination of medicines, be sure to consult your doctor.
Oral antibiotics (tetracyclines, penicillins, aminoglycosides) should be administered separately from acetylcysteine and at an interval of at least 2 hours. This does not apply to cefixime and loracarbef which can be taken at the same time as acetylcysteine.
