Zinc is a mineral found in the body in an amount of only 2-3 grams, but it is very necessary for its functioning.
Zinc participates in cellular respiration, synthesis of genetic material, growth and development of bones, energy metabolism, wound healing, ability of the liver to remove toxic substances from the body (e.g. alcohol), affects immunity and regulates heart rate and blood pressure.
Zinc intake strengthens the reproductive system, improves memory and concentration, enhances the sense of taste, strengthens the skin and hair.
It is used to treat acne.
It works well on the respiratory organs.
20% zinc is found in the skin, bones and teeth are found elsewhere.
Zinc is extremely important for eye health. It is interesting that the fox has a 40 times higher concentration of zinc in its eyes than a human, and we know that foxes also see at night.
The best sources of zinc are seafood, dark, lean "meat (beef, veal, horse, veal,...), egg yolks, legumes, sunflower seeds, pumpkins. Zinc from animal products is used much better than from foods of plant origin - it is believed that only 10% of zinc is used from plant products.
If we don't get enough zinc through these foods, we have to get it through supplements, due to the aforementioned reasons of its importance for preserving human health.
